Powered by Snapdragon 835 Sony Xperia XZ Premium reaches Gigabit speeds

World, meet the first commercial smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor: Sony?s Xperia XZ Premium. Making its debut at this year?s Mobile World Congress, the latest Sony smartphone boasts advanced camera functionality with its new Motion Eye camera, a vivid 4K HDR display, and Gigabit-class LTE speeds (one of the first to do so) ? all welcome advancements to power users as we forge ahead to 5G.

Forming lasting connections
Engineered to provide phenomenal mobile performance, the Xperia XZ Premium?s Snapdragon 835 processor packs a punch. At 10 nanometers, the processor is 35 percent smaller and uses 25 percent less power than previous Snapdragon designs. It?s also significantly smaller than its 14nm predecessor, which means there?s more room for the phone?s many innovative features.

A highlight of the Snapdragon 835 is its Qualcomm Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, which is designed to support Gigabit-class speeds to those on the go. Blurring the line between wireless and wired broadband, the X16 can achieve peak download speeds up to 10X as fast as first generation 4G LTE devices ? at up to 1Gbps, that is. To reach these unprecedented speeds, the modem supports 4x4 MIMO and 4x carrier aggregation, so access to a network and speed ? even in weak signal conditions ? are rarely a concern.

Capturing moments in high definition
Sony brings its expertise in digital cameras to the Xperia XZ Premium, integrating technology typically not seen in a smartphone. Sony reports its Motion Eye camera is the first to feature a memory-stacked Exmor RS sensor which provides fast image scanning and data transfer which enables Super slow motion video capture ? four times slower than any other smartphone. Coupled with the improved Bionz for mobile processing engine and a 19MP high-resolution sensor, the Xperia XZ Premium can create sharper images in low-light and backlit conditions without extraneous background noise. This means you can rest easy when taking concert photos at night or capturing a beautiful sunset.

Putting your best display forward
To best view your vivid photos and videos, the Xperia XZ Premium?s display must be above par. With a 5.5-inch screen, the smartphone supports 4K HDR. It uses Sony?s BRAVIA TV technology, made to allow you to watch movies in 4K HDR (2160 by 3840 pixels) while on the move in breath-taking clarity. And to ensure that its bright, beautiful display is safe from the elements, the screen is reinforced with Gorilla Glass 5 (the phone itself is water resistant and dust-proof).

Staying super charged
Sony makes sure you?ll spend more time on the go and less time tethered to an outlet by including Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology, which is engineered to refuel devices up to four times faster than conventional charging.

Files on the Xperia XZ Premium, are transferred via the USB 3.1 connection, which is 10X faster than USB 2.0, so you can receive documents and media almost instantly. A USB Type-C socket makes it easier to charge your device, so you won?t end up fumbling with plug that isn?t reversible.

With the cutting-edge Snapdragon 835 processor, Gigabit speeds, groundbreaking camera and display, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is a true powerhouse.
